ITALIAN STYLE CHICKPEA BURGER MELT

Ingredients

GARLIC BREAD:

Garlic, finely chopped
2 cloves
Parsley flakes
1/8 tsp
Italian bread (1/2-inch thick)

BURGERS:

Earth Balance® Original Buttery Spread
1 tbsp
Sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup
Gardein® Ultimate Italian Style Chickpea Burgers
2 ea
Angela Mia® Marinara Sauce
1/2 cup
Vlasic® Mild Yellow Banana Pepper Rings
8 rings
Mozzarella cheese or vegan alternative
2 slices

Preparation

GARLIC BREAD: Preheat oven to 400°F. Stir together melted Earth Balance, 1 clove garlic and parsley in small bowl. Brush bread with garlic spread and place on baking sheet. Bake until toasted and lightly browned, 8 to 10 minutes, turning once.

BURGERS: Melt 1 tablespoon Earth Balance in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and garlic to skillet and sauté until mushrooms are tender, about 3 minutes. Remove mushrooms from pan.

Cook chickpea burgers in skillet according to package directions. Place burgers on garlic bread and top with marinara sauce, mushrooms, banana peppers and cheese. Bake until cheese is melted, about a minute. Top with second slice of garlic bread and serve your chickpea burgers with additional marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.
